We have long had a short mast sonic rig in the fleet; regularly deployed to complete environmental sampling and well installations within factories and beneath fuel station canopies.

In response to a recent client request to recover continuous samples and also perform SPTs to assess the geotechnical parameters of soils adjacent to transmission line structures our in-house specialist sonic fitters modified the short mast rig by mounting a winch and automatic SPT trip hammer.

The dense granular superficial deposits found in the site location required the extra punch of sonic to advance boreholes to target depth, a good modification and addition to the fleet capabilities.
